Reply to a LinkedIn message

See who is waiting on you in the Inbox, then copy your reply and paste it into LinkedIn. Nothing is sent from Adapt.

How-toChecked 2026-10-10

You will have answered a LinkedIn conversation on LinkedIn, with your reply written and copied from Adapt.

Before you start

The extension reads your messaging when you open LinkedIn messaging with the extension on. Until then the Inbox page is drawn in grey and says so, with an Open LinkedIn messaging link. Install it first: Install the Chrome extension.

Steps

  1. Open LinkedIn outreach, then Inbox.
  2. Filter with All, Waiting on you (they wrote last) or Unread.
  3. Click a conversation. The right side shows the person, their headline and the latest message.
  4. Optional: press Find in the book to look the person up in the UK book. A match shows the business and links to its record. No match says Not matched to a business in the book yet.
  5. Write your reply in the box.
  6. Press Copy and open LinkedIn. It copies the text and opens the conversation. Paste it in and send it on LinkedIn.
The LinkedIn inbox in a new account, drawn in grey with a line saying replies land here once the extension has read your inbox
The Inbox before the extension has copied any conversations.

What you will see

The page says Nothing is sent from here. Only the latest message of each conversation is copied. The whole conversation stays on LinkedIn.

Good to know

  • A reply stops that person's campaign steps and shows up here, once the extension has copied the conversation.
  • Draft a reply for me says Not connected yet. You write the reply.
  • If someone asks you to stop, stop and note it: add them to your suppression list in Settings (The suppression list).
  • Look-ups are rate limited. The page tells you if you ask too fast.
