CRM
Companies, people, deals and tasks in your own workspace. It keeps your notes and never changes the UK book.
The CRM is where you keep your own companies, people and deals, and what your team did with them. It is a separate workspace from the UK book: what you write here stays here.
What is in it
A CRM set up from the Basic CRM template has four kinds of record and a pipeline:
| Record | What it is | Page |
|---|---|---|
| Leads | Enquiries before they are deals. Worked to empty in the Leads inbox. | The Leads inbox |
| Companies | A business you deal with. | Companies and people in the CRM |
| People | Someone at a company. | Companies and people in the CRM |
| Deals | A chance to win something, in a stage of the pipeline. | Deals and pipelines |
The left menu under CRM lists the views your setup has: for Basic, Companies, People, Leads inbox, Deals and Dashboard. Below them are Customise, Templates and setup and Your stack. A Set up group may follow, with Where leads come from, Rules, Connections, Lead report and Alerts. See Where leads come from, Rules and Connections.
Things to know first
- It starts empty. A new CRM has no sample records. You add them by hand, from the UK book, by import, or by a form.
- Nothing here changes the UK book. A phone number you correct on a CRM record stays on the CRM record. Saving says "The UK book is not changed."
- Every change is kept. Each edit records who, when and why, and each event goes on the record's timeline.
- Held details stay held. Bank details, date of birth and home address never appear in a list, an export or an import preview, and cannot be typed into a note.
- Your team shares one workspace. See Roles and what is shared in the CRM team.
- An archived record is hidden, not deleted. It can be brought back.
