Correct a wrong phone number
You cannot type over a number on a record. Report it, or flag it on a call, and Adapt reviews it.
You will have told Adapt that a number is wrong, with the right one if you have it.
Ask Adapt to look again
- Open the company record.
- Click Enrich now in the header card. See Enrich one record.
If a better number is out there, it can turn up. Nothing changes on a single say-so.
Report it
- On the record, click the three dots at the top right.
- Choose Report a problem with this record.
- Your email program opens with a message to Adapt Leads support. The subject carries the business name and record number.
- Say which number is wrong and what it should be, then send it.
Adapt reviews it. There is no promise of a time, and the record changes only if the evidence supports it. When a value does change, the old one is kept: click a line in How we know to see the trail.
If you are on a call
In the Caller console, Something wrong with this record? has chips: Better number (you type it), Who to ask for, Wrong person, Address is wrong and Wrong trade. If the number rang a different business, the outcome is Wrong number. The chips are locked until the call has started. A person reviews each flag. See Wrong numbers and corrections.
Keep a note for yourself
Notes and Tasks on the record are yours, but they stay in your browser and do not change the shared record. See Signals, Activity, Notes and Tasks on a record.
What happens next
The record shows the corrected number only after Adapt accepts the evidence. Until then do not rely on the old one.
If something goes wrong
If you cannot tell whether the figure is wrong or simply missing, read A number looks wrong and Why a field on a record is empty. A person who wants out of the book is a different request: Handle a request to be removed.
