Find an old chat

Open Chats on the Ask Adapt page to list your kept conversations, reopen one, or remove it from the list.

How-toChecked 2026-10-10

You will have an earlier conversation with Ask Adapt open again, so you can read it or carry on.

Steps

  1. Open Ask Adapt, from the sparkle on the top bar or by asking from Home.
  2. In the top bar of the page press Chats.
  3. The menu Your chats lists this visit's chats first, then everything kept. Each row shows the title (starred ones begin with a star), when it was last used ("Today", "Yesterday" or a date) and how many questions it holds.
  4. Click a row. The chat opens with what was said, and you can carry on from the last turn. If it cannot be opened you see "That chat could not be opened."
The Chats menu with no chats yet
The Chats menu lists this visit's chats.

The picture shows the menu in the design build. An empty menu says "Nothing yet. Your conversations are kept here."

What is kept

A chat belongs to your account only, so you can open it tomorrow, on another computer or after a refresh. The page saves the whole chat after each answer, including the cards. The title follows your first question. The star beside the title stars the chat.

Remove a chat from the list

  1. Open Chats.
  2. Press Remove at the end of the row. The page says "Removed from your list".

Remove hides the chat from your list but keeps the record: the platform never deletes, it archives. If you removed the chat you are looking at, you go back to Home.

Limits

  • The list shows your latest 100 chats.
  • A chat has a size limit (300 screens). Start a new chat for a new subject by pressing New chat.
  • Ask Adapt remembers the last 12 turns of a chat when it answers.

Approved changes

A change you approved is saved in the place it changed, such as a list, whether or not the chat is kept. A card you did not decide still expires after 30 minutes. See Approve a proposal card.

If something goes wrong

See Ask Adapt and voice problems, by message. Your spoken questions are kept like typed ones: Ask Adapt a question by voice.
