Delete your data (erasure)

Ask Adapt to remove your details from the UK book by email, or close your account. Closing does not delete the account.

How-toChecked 2026-10-10

You will have asked Adapt to remove your details, and know what is removed, what is kept and what closing your account does.

This is guidance, not legal advice.

If your details are in the UK book

Anyone can ask, free, without an account.

  1. Email hello@adaptleads.co.uk with the subject "Data removal request". Or use the Remove my data link on the website, or the contact form and choose "Data removal".
  2. Say what you want removed (erasure), or that you object to Adapt processing it. Say the name and business it relates to.
  3. Adapt may ask for a little detail to find the record.
  4. Adapt suppresses your details everywhere and keeps a minimal record, stored as a hash, so you are not added back. It replies within 30 days of your request arriving.

Erasure can be refused in part where a legal duty or a legal claim applies. A reason is recorded when that happens. The details stop appearing, including in exports not yet made; a name may show as "held back for a moment" while the check runs.

If you are a customer closing your account

  1. Export what you want to keep: Export everything you hold in Adapt Leads.
  2. Cancel any paid plan: Change your plan.
  3. Close the account: Close your account.
  4. If you want your personal data removed too, send the email above. Closing is not the same as erasure.

What closing does and does not do

Closing marks the account closed and ends sign-in. The server does not delete the account or anything that belongs to it. Lists, tasks and records in the product are archived, not deleted. Account and billing records are kept for the life of the account and as long as the law requires, such as tax and accounting. See Retention: how long Adapt keeps things.

What you must do for data you hold

Contacts you exported are yours as controller. Remove the people who ask from your own files, CRM and campaigns. See Handle a request to be removed.

What happens next

You get an answer from Adapt. If you are unhappy, contact Adapt first, then you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. See Data requests: access, erasure and objection.

If something goes wrong

If you closed the account but still want data removed, email from the account address. See Privacy overview.
