Connect your LinkedIn profile
Connect LinkedIn posting so scheduled posts go out on their own, and know what the extension uses instead.
You will have LinkedIn posting connected, so scheduled posts go out at their time. There are two separate things called "connecting LinkedIn", so read this first.
Two connections
| What | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| LinkedIn posting | Publishes your scheduled and Post now posts to your own profile. | Schedule page, this guide |
| Your LinkedIn sign-in in Chrome | Lets the extension view profiles and send connection requests from your own browser. Adapt never sees your LinkedIn password. | Install the Chrome extension |
Steps for posting
- Open LinkedIn outreach, then Schedule. The page tells you whether posting is connected.
- If it says LinkedIn is not connected yet, click Connect LinkedIn. The dashboard's Set up LinkedIn card has the same button.
- A new tab opens on LinkedIn. Allow Adapt to post for you.
- Come back to Adapt Leads and reload the page.
What you will see
After reloading, the page reads that scheduled posts go out on their own, with the name it posts as. Other messages mean:
| Message (in short) | What to do |
|---|---|
| Automatic posting is not switched on yet | Nothing. Posts wait on the calendar. There is no button to press. |
| Your LinkedIn connection has ended | Press Reconnect LinkedIn. Posts are on hold until you do. |
| The connection ends in some days | Press Reconnect LinkedIn before then. LinkedIn does not let it renew itself. |
If LinkedIn does not give a sign-in page, the app says so. Try again.
What it does not do
Posting is the one thing Adapt does for you on LinkedIn, and only for posts. Comments, invites and messages never go through this connection. See What Adapt never does on LinkedIn.
Next: Schedule LinkedIn posts. If posts stay on the calendar, see LinkedIn problems, by message.
