The command palette (Ctrl or Cmd and K).

Steps

  1. Press Ctrl and K on Windows, or Cmd and K on a Mac. You can also press / when your cursor is not in a box, press Search for anything at the top of the side menu, or press Search in the top bar.
  2. Type a few letters. The list narrows as you type.
  3. Move with the up and down arrow keys and press Enter, or click a row.
  4. Press Escape to close it without doing anything.

What the list holds

  • Actions: ask Adapt for 100 leads, create a list, start calling, upload a list to enrich, write a LinkedIn post.
  • Go to: a page of the app by name, such as Settings, Plan and billing, Unibox or Caller Console.

What it does not do

It does not list your own businesses or people by name. To search the UK book by name, open Businesses and see Search for a business by name.

The Ask box searches too

On Home, after two letters the Ask box shows an Ask Adapt row first, then matching pages. Press Enter on the Ask row to ask, or pick a page to go there. See The Ask box and its modes.

If nothing matches

The list says "Nothing matches. Try a town, a sector or a name." Try a shorter word. If you wanted a business, use Businesses. If you wanted an answer, use Ask Adapt. Frame of the app: How the app is laid out.

If something goes wrong

If the shortcut does nothing, click on the page first so the keyboard goes to the app, or use the Search button instead. Browsers on some systems keep Ctrl and K for their own address bar; the / key or the button always works.
