Unsubscribes and the do-not-email list
Adapt does not add an unsubscribe link for you, how to give people a way out, and how the do-not-email list works.
Every marketing email must give the person an easy way to say stop, and you must honour it. Adapt does not add that for you, so you write it and you act on it.
What Adapt does not do
- It adds no unsubscribe link or footer to your emails.
- It adds no unsubscribe header. Unsubscribe header is listed as Not available yet.
- It does not remove someone automatically when they reply "unsubscribe". The reply is tagged Unsubscribe, and that is all.
What you do
- In every email, include a plain opt-out line, for example "If you would rather not hear from me, reply stop and I will not email you again." Put your name and your business's name and address in the email too: The rules for cold email, PECR and UK GDPR.
- When someone asks to stop, open the reply in the Unibox, click ..., then Add to do-not-email list, and confirm.
The do-not-email list
Adding an address means no campaign emails it again and it is marked Do not contact wherever it is in your Email leads. The reply stays in the Unibox. Anyone on the list is skipped when a campaign launches or resumes, and an import tells you how many were blocked.
Leads who replied with interest, have a deal, or were handed to your CRM are also not emailed again by the campaign.
Other ways out
A person can also be removed by pausing or deleting the campaign or removing the lead: Pause, resume or stop a campaign. Those are not the same as the list. Use the list for anyone who objects.
Act promptly
Keep stop requests from every route, including replies read in your own mail app, and add them to the list the same day.
