Import leads for email from a CSV, a paste or a list

Upload a CSV, paste addresses or send a list from Adapt Leads, and what happens to people on your do-not-email list.

How-toChecked 2026-10-10

You will have leads in your Email outreach pool, and optionally in a campaign. Importing sends nothing.

Upload a CSV

  1. Open Leads, click Import leads, then Upload a CSV. Or do it from a campaign's Leads tab.
  2. Choose a file: headers in the first row, UTF-8, up to 5,000 rows. An Email column is required.
  3. Check the column match. Adapt guesses from the header names (for example "email", "first name", "company"). Change any with the drop-down, or choose Skip this column.
  4. Under Label them as, choose CSV import or Added by hand.
  5. Click Import N leads. Opened from a campaign, the button also adds them to it.

You can map to Email, First name, Last name, Contact name, Company name, Legal name, Phone, Website, LinkedIn, City, Postcode, Address, Director and Notes.

Paste addresses

Choose Paste email addresses. One per line. "Helen Marsh" <helen@example.com> keeps the name.

From an Adapt Leads list

In Adapt Leads, open a list or a search, tick the businesses, and choose Send to, then Adapt Outreach. They join your Email leads with their record. Come back and use From your Outreach leads.

The result

The result reads, for example, "12 new leads added", with counts of those already there, those with no email address and those blocked because they are on your do-not-email list.

Who you email

A list from anywhere still has to be lawful to email. Companies and sole traders are treated differently: read The rules for cold email, PECR and UK GDPR.
