Reveal a contact from the results table

Use Reveal to see a business's email, phone and full address, what the box says, and what to do if it is refused.

You will see the emails, phone numbers and full trading address we hold for a business, and the business joins your revealed records.

Steps

  1. In the table, click Reveal in the Contact column of the row.
  2. A box asks "Reveal the contact details?". It says what you will see and that revealing does not use your exports.
  3. Click Reveal.
  4. The button shows "Revealing" and then a green Revealed pill. The Email and Phone columns now show the address and number.

The box has a tick, "Do not ask again in this session". Tick it and the next reveals go straight through without the question, until you close the tab.

What a reveal does

  • Shows the email, phone and full address we hold.
  • Adds the business to All revealed in the Lists area.
  • Lets you export it, because only revealed businesses go into an export file.
  • A reveal cannot be undone.

What it does not do

  • It does not export anything.
  • It does not contact the business.
  • It does not cost anything when you reveal a business you already revealed.

If a reveal is refused

If you see Your account cannot reveal right now, something on your plan needs attention. The box has a Plan & billing button. See Credits and exports: what costs what for what the app and the server each count.

If you see "There is nothing to reveal on this record yet", the record holds no email, phone, address or director to show.

If you see "Name held back for a moment" or "Some contact details are held back for a moment while a removal check completes", look again shortly. Nothing is lost.

Reveal many at once

The table has no bulk reveal. From the export sheet, Reveal them first reveals up to 500 selected businesses that are not revealed yet. See Export businesses to a CSV file.

The server keeps a small balance that a new reveal uses, and new accounts start with 25. The app never shows that balance. When it runs out, reveals are refused as above. See [Credits and exports: what costs what](/concepts/credits-and-exports/).
