Enrich a list: match your own file to the UK book

Upload a CSV of businesses and see which ones the UK book holds, with their emails, phones and directors.

Enrich a list (under Data in the left rail) takes a file of businesses you already hold and finds each one in the UK book.

Enrich a list page with a drop area and the list of template columns
Enrich a list. 1 Drop area. 2 Choose file. 3 Download a template. 4 The columns the template has.
  1. Drop area. Drag a CSV file here.
  2. Choose file. Pick one from your computer.
  3. Download a template. A CSV with the right headings and one example row.
  4. The columns the template has. One for everything we hold about a business.

What it does

Each row is matched to a business in the book:

  1. By its website, or by the website part of an email address at the company's own domain.
  2. Then by its company name with its postcode.

Everything else in your file stays with its row. Nothing is thrown away.

What it costs

Nothing. Matching does not use your exports. Nothing is saved to your account by uploading or matching. Only Save as a list writes anything, and only after you click it.

What it needs

A company name is enough. A website and a postcode make the match surer. Rows outside the UK are not matched.

What it does not do yet

Company number, telephone and address are kept with your row but the match does not use them. Rows with only those will come back unmatched. A row with no company name and no website has nothing to match on.

After you upload

The page reads your file, works out which of your columns is which, and starts matching in batches, with a live count and a Stop button. See Read your Enrich a list results.

Common jobs

If it does not work

  • "That is an Excel workbook. In Excel choose File, Save As, then CSV UTF-8, and upload that."
  • "That file is over 60 MB ... Split it into two and upload each half."
  • "That file looks empty." or "There are headings but no rows under them."
  • "There was only the example row." Put your own businesses under the headings.
