The connector's tool groups and the real count

How the connector's tools are grouped, how many there are, and why the public site says 37 while the code holds 92.

GuideDeveloperChecked 2026-10-10

The connector offers 92 tools in the code today. The public website lists 37. Both are right about what they count: the website counts the tools written for the connector, and the connector also offers the Ask Adapt tools through a bridge.

Where the two numbers disagree

Count Where it comes from
37 Tools written for the connector itself: 5 for the book and account, 8 for LinkedIn, 19 for lists, campaigns, reports and the like, and 5 for reports, calling teams and invites
55 Ask Adapt tools offered to the connector. Ask has 63 tools. Four that only restyle the app or add an internal note are left out, and four the connector already has under the same name use the connector's own version
92 Total in the code, confirmed by reading it and by loading the tool list

A measurement on 10 October found 83. We cannot tell from the code why. The tool list was 92 both in the working copy and in the last commit, so the likely reason is that the measurement ran against a server that had not yet loaded the newest tools. The number the running server gives can only be read with a key by calling tools/list. Do that if the exact count matters to you.

MCP connector tools has one table per group with the permission and inputs for each tool.

Read tools and prepare tools

  • A read tool returns information and changes nothing.
  • A prepare tool makes an approval card. It changes nothing until a person approves it in the app. See How prepared changes reach you for approval.
  • A few of the tools written for the connector make a direct but undoable change, such as creating a list or a draft campaign, adding people to a queue, or pausing and archiving. They need a write permission. None deletes.

Hints the tools carry

Each tool says whether it is read-only, destructive, idempotent and open-world, using MCP's tool hints. Read tools are marked read-only. Prepare tools are marked not destructive, and none reaches anyone outside Adapt.
