Connect Claude to Adapt Leads
Add the connector to Claude with the address and sign in with your Adapt Leads account, or add it to Claude Code with a key.
You will end with Claude able to search the book and read your workspace. Claude connects with your Adapt Leads sign-in, so there is no key to copy.
Before you start
- An Adapt Leads account that can sign in.
- A Claude plan that lets you add a custom connector. Check Claude's own help for which plans do.
In the Claude app
- In Claude, open the settings for connectors and choose to add a custom connector.
- Name it "Adapt Leads".
- For the address, paste
https://mcp.adaptleads.co.uk. - Save, then choose to connect. A page titled Connect to Adapt opens.
- Sign in with your email and password, or with Google. The page tells you what the connection may do: "Read your book, lists, campaigns and connections." for read-only, or "Read your book, and make changes that can be undone. It cannot start a campaign or send on its own." for the wider one.
- You return to Claude, connected.
Claude asks for the read-only scope by default if it asks for nothing else. The wider scope is called adapt. Both are described in Keys, sign-in and permissions.
In Claude Code
Claude Code can use OAuth or a key. With a key from the Stack page:
claude mcp add --transport http adaptleads https://mcp.adaptleads.co.uk \
--header "Authorization: Bearer adl_your_key"
Add --scope user to use it in every project. Check it with /mcp. Keep the key out of files you commit.
Try it
Ask: "Search the book for accountants in Sheffield with a website and tell me how many there are." The assistant calls search_leads.
What happens next
- The access token lasts one hour and refreshes by itself for up to 30 days. After that, Claude asks you to sign in again.
- To stop it, disconnect the connector in Claude. For a key, revoke it on the Stack page.
If something goes wrong
- "Invalid Host header" or a bare error after sign-in: tell us. The connector only accepts its published hostnames.
- The sign-in page says "That email or password was refused": the account details are wrong or the address is not on the approved list.
- The assistant says a tool is forbidden: the sign-in was read-only, or a key lacks the permission. See Errors and what they mean.
