Where API and connector changes are listed

How changes to the connector's tools and permissions are announced, and what is not versioned.

Dated changes to Adapt Leads, including new connector tools, are listed in the What is new section of this help centre. That is the only place changes are announced.

What is not versioned

  • The connector has no version in its address. Tools are added and descriptions change. A tool's name and permission have stayed the same once released, but there is no promise.
  • The app's routes are private and change with the app. See How the app's API is organised.
  • New tools never widen an existing key. A key keeps exactly the permissions it was created with, so a new tool that needs a new permission cannot be reached by an old key.

How to stay in step

  1. Call tools/list on start-up and use the names it gives you rather than a copy kept in your code.
  2. Treat an unknown error value in a tool result as a failure, and log it with its ref if it has one.
  3. Compare against MCP connector tools, which is rebuilt from the code, to see what a given release holds.

Counts you may see quoted

The public website has listed 37 tools. That counts only the tools written for the connector. The connector also offers the Ask Adapt tools, so the code now offers 92. See The connector's tool groups and the real count for the split.
