Exports and your monthly allowance
Each plan has a monthly export allowance. New contacts in an export use it. Re-exporting is free.
Searching is free and unlimited. What you pay for is exports: taking contacts out as a file. The meter is your monthly export allowance.
How the meter works
- Each plan gives a number of exports a month (see Plans and prices).
- Exporting a contact you have not exported this month uses one.
- Exporting the same contact again in the same calendar month does not count again.
- The allowance resets at the start of each calendar month. The Plan and billing page says "resets 1 Nov", for example.
- When you change plan after paying, the used count resets to zero and the new allowance starts at once.
Where you can see it
- The top right of Plan and billing: "N exports left this month".
- The This month card: used, left and a bar.
- The product name menu, under your name.
- The Key numbers tile on Home, and Reports.
What happens when it runs out
An export that would go over fails with a message that your monthly export allowance is reached and to upgrade your plan Nothing is written or counted. Part of an export may go through if some of its contacts fit: the file then holds only those.
Before a large export
Adapt can show what an export would cost, without charging, and how many contacts it would return and how many are already yours. This is advisory: another export in between can use the allowance.
What an export does not use
A Reports CSV, a saved search, a list and a search do not use the allowance.
Credits
Older wording in the product talks about credits. Exports are what is metered now. New accounts are given 25 starting credits, and a reveal card in Ask Adapt shows its cost before you approve it. I could not confirm in the code whether a reveal spends a credit today. If the card shows a cost, that is what it will use.
