Voice routes for speak and transcribe
The two voice routes, the audio they take and return, the size and daily caps, and what happens to a recording.
Two routes read a line aloud and turn a short recording into words. Both need a sign-in token and both are capped per person per day.
| Route | Takes | Returns |
|---|---|---|
POST /market/voice/speak |
JSON {"text": "..."}, 1 to 400 characters |
audio/mpeg (an mp3), not cached |
POST /market/voice/transcribe |
The recording as the raw body, with its own Content-Type such as audio/webm |
JSON {"text": "..."} |
Caps
| Cap | Value |
|---|---|
| Speak calls per day | 200 |
| Transcribe calls per day | 200 |
| Text for speak | 400 characters |
| Recording size | 1,200 bytes at least, 8 MiB at most |
A recording under 1,200 bytes gets 400 That recording was empty. One over the limit gets 413. Past a daily cap the answer is 429 That is plenty for today. Type your answer instead, or try again tomorrow. The counts live in the server's memory, so a restart resets them.

What happens to a recording
The recording is passed on to turn it into words and is thrown away. Only the words come back, and the page decides whether to save them.
